Deanne was born deaf from a hearing family. Her world changed when she was exposed to sign language and English at the age of 2.. Enjoys reading, especially with deaf children. Also enjoys attending deaf community events. Role models include Phyllis Frelich, Linda Bove, Freda Norman and Sue Thomas. In addition to acting, also teaches American Sign Language.
Bray was first discovered while performing with the Deaf dance troupe "Prism West". She has also worked with California's Deaf West Theatre and the National Theatre of the Deaf. Bray straddles both the hearing and deaf worlds, communicating both through spoken English and also American Sign Language.
Ms. Bray is now known within the Hollywood industry and beyond as someone who brings honesty, depth, and her own unique charm to her growing list of roles. She has also done work for Disney, Paramount, HBO, Sony, and NBC as well as having been a stalwart performer at the prestigious Deafwest Theatre and CTG Theater Group, earning accolades and awards for her performances.
