Justin Brooks became the first deaf student to graduate from Spokane Community College’s commercial driving program, overcoming a disability that once disqualified him from becoming a trucker.

Justin Brooks was born deaf, meaning, until recently he wasn’t eligible for a commercial driver’s license.

Justin Brooks has dreamed of the open road since he was a young child, riding along in the front seat of his grandfather’s truck on shipping routes. And now, in a first and despite his deafness, he'll get the chance.
