My name is Rikki Poynter, I am 25 years old, and I am Deaf. I fight for better Closed Captioning on YouTube. I started off as a Beauty Blogger and Vlogger, but I quit and went on to talk about Deaf awareness, accessibility, and the importance of Closed Captioning.

It was the best decision I ever made, as I have made many friends in the Deaf community and have made an impact. I'm not where I want to be entirely yet, but I will get there. My vision is to make YouTube 100% accessible for Deaf people so we won't have to rely on Automated Captioning anymore.

I'm constantly looking for events and seminars to raise awareness. My mission is to continue to email YouTube content creators to Caption their videos, and to continue to speak to the public about it.

Deaf people are left out of a lot of things because we don't always know what's being said around us, and/or on YouTube. I want YouTube to be one of the things that isn't in that criteria. I will do it. Join my fight for better Closed Captioning!
