My boss was sneaky today! She was bummed that I was at the other store. BUT she called Store manager here and made plans even texting my associate (it was just me and him) to see what I was doing and this store manager came up to me with cake and badge and pin. Nice surprised!!

To become a department manager, you must pass this questionnaire. If you pass, then wait til the position is open and ready for the interview at any time. They won't call you. They just come to get you in their office. So, you need to be prepared!  If fail to pass the questionnaires, then you will have to wait for six months. It sucks to wait and patience pays off!

I believe you all can do it to achieve your goal. I always thought I wasn't ready but here I am! Already 14 years last month May. Have faith in whatever you're doing.

Yes, I have been a cashier for 5 years. That was my starting position. Then I moved to a different dept to gain experience and I applied for Csm. They turned me down because I'm deaf. It doesn't matter if I'm deaf or hard of hearing, just labeled deaf. And they think I couldn't do it. 2nd time tried again still same thing turned me down. I called the former district market manager, He knows me very well and was a very very nice guy. I left a message on his answering machine. One day he called me at my mom's house to ask what happened. I explained to him that I got turned down twice because according to them I'm deaf. The next thing I know he took care of it. 3 times I applied and I finally got it. They had 30-day observation. Guess what? They were shocked. I CAN DO IT! They said I proved them wrong. If I can do it, anyone can do it. Just don't let them turn you down because you're deaf. You don't need ears. You have eyes and you have skills and experiences that is all that matters! I'm gunning for ZMS but I'm not ready yet. I still a to learn as a department manager.
